This is the Offical Website of The Principle Wife.
World-class musical theater comes to the stage in a heart-touching account of sacrifice and love. The Principle Wife is a story of a family as they face a harsh landscape, persecution, and the reality of surviving an antagonistic government.
Set in Southern Utah in the late 1800s, The Principle Wife centers around the love story of Rebecca and Benjamin as they embark on a journey of living “the principle” known as plural marriage. At a time when they face severe difficulty and uncertainty, could adding more members to the household really be the answer?
In the tradition of Musicals like "Fiddler on the Roof," The Principle Wife puts an end to the notion that plural marriage is still endorsed or promoted today. It is an entertaining and positive response to the salacious perspectives that dominate current cultural outlooks.
Broadway star Erin Wilson personalizes her experience as a cast member of The Principle Wife, the history and stigmas it addresses, and how it is a story of a family we must all know.
